Jord has developed a comprehensive asset-level methodology for quantifying energy consumption, water use and emissions, including greenhouse gases (GHG) and sulphur dioxide. These metrics are typically incorporated in Life Cycle Analysis (LCA).
For each commodity under coverage, Jord identifies and quantifies Scope 1 & 2 carbon emissions at an asset level for mines, smelters and refineries.
For many companies, value chain emissions, or Scope 3, represent the majority of their total emissions. Scope 3 emissions are split into 15 categories which include upstream and downstream emissions.
Uniquely Jord provides estimations for the key Scope 3 categories (1, 3, 4, 9, 10 & 11) at an asset and corporate level.
Our data is derived from published reports and allows users to compare assets and companies for key sustainability metrics across the supply chain.
Data coverage from 2010 to 2030+ for:
PGMs - platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium & ruthenium.

Water is complex and has different meanings for different stakeholders. Jord’s water analysis provides visualisation of the impact of water use at an operational level for mine, smelter and refinery operations.
Asset-level data can be aggregated to a corporate level.
Water use includes year-by-year water withdrawal, discharge and consumption.
The product includes climate impacts such as drought and flood risk potential, and trends in rainfall and temperature.
Integrated with Aqueduct Baseline Water Stress and Köppen Geiger climate type to help better understand issues at an asset level.
Data derived from public reports and benchmarking.
Data coverage for PGMs from 2018 to 2030.
